Living the communications revolution
The shiniest gadgets, whizziest software and latest gizmos mean nothing if they aren't helping us do a better job for our clients. So, through continual investment in the best communications technology, Point One now routinely achieves what used to be the stuff of science fiction.
Every member of the Point One team sits at one of the latest Apple Macs with an iSight camera and VoIP connectivity, so global live briefings, conferences and creative reviews have become an everyday reality.
Not so many years ago it would have been difficult to believe that MD Phil Hinckley could be sitting with a client in Copenhagen, creating a digital presentation, ably assisted by the live services of the design team and a specialist copywriter in the UK, plus support staff in Switzerland and an account manager who was 'on the road'.
Yet, just a few days ago, that was exactly what he was doing. Not only that, but at the same time Phil was also liasing with a client in Asia and reviewing packaging concepts, to be sent to a US client to enjoy with her first cup of coffee when she arrived at the office. Even Star Trek's Scotty would have been impressed!
"We've always prided ourselves on being the most up-to-date UK agency when it comes to new technology," says Phil. "And it's not a case of 'boys and their toys' - I promise! - but more about making sure we always provide the best possible service to our clients." Being 'never out of touch' is something that many executives in the Wi-Fi and Blackberry generation concern themselves about, but with the choice of when to be in touch - anywhere, anytime, anyhow - Point One can turn this to everyone's advantage.
